The 8-week program will include a capstone report, a presentation from Civitas to your board and stakeholders on the outcome of the Funding Readiness Program, and a roadmap for your destination to increase your organization’s budget.

Our Funding Readiness Program is a powerful way to enhance your destination’s vision, purpose, and funding to attract and retain visitors.
Join other Destination Marketing Organization teams over an eight-week period to explore the possibilities for development. Brainstorm opportunities for growth, growth measurement, and best practices for educating your stakeholders on how your organization can continue to grow programs and funding.
Your organization will graduate from the program with a capstone report that includes the following:
- Clarity over what programs and opportunities your organization would like to pursue for the destination.
- Funds your organization would need to pursue the programs that would benefit your stakeholders.
- Key performance indicators to measure the success of programs and opportunities to be funded.
- Two or three options to increase your organization’s budget, which will include a detailed review of the ability to form a tourism improvement district.
- A communication strategy for educating stakeholders on the importance of additional funding and opportunities.
- A final specialized presentation to your organization’s board.
THE DETAIL… OUR PROGRAM WILL START APRIL 8, 2019
Your organization will create a small committee to participate in weekly webinars and to assist with weekly homework. Yes, homework! Don’t worry, we will work with you to make the homework as manageable as possible as it will help to increase your understanding. Your committee should include senior team members from your organization, a board member (or two) that represents the tourism community, and a supportive member of your jurisdiction’s staff.
The program will take place over eight weeks, starting on April 8, 2019. All members of your committee will participate in six webinars. We will schedule a one-on-one call with your committee to review proposals to increase your organization’s budget and the analysis of your destinations ability to create a tourism improvement district, and one (1) trip to present your final report and roadmap for additional funding to your organization’s board and key stakeholders. The webinars will take place on Mondays at 1:00 pm PST/ 4:00 pm EST.
During the program we’ll help you pinpoint “why” your organization needs additional funding, “how” it can acquire those funds, and “what” to communicate for stakeholder buy-in.
Part of our admission process is to validate that your organization is fully willing to invest the time and effort in beneficial homework, which will require approximately three hours per week. A significant portion of this work involves asking your stakeholders tough questions about the organizations desired growth, how to measure the success of programs and/or opportunities for the organization, and most importantly how to fund the organization’s growth plan.

Deposit: $500
The program must be paid in full by Friday, March 15th to confirm your seat in the Funding Readiness Program. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable to a future Funding Readiness Program.

To apply, please complete the application. We will acknowledge your application upon receipt and will make a decision within four business days, after carefully examining your submission. If accepted, we will invoice you for the $15,000 program investment; you will then have 72 hours to submit the deposit of $500 to reserve your spot.
